What textbook should Fall 2016 use? #3

Think of your colleagues who will be taking this course in Fall 2016. What would benefit them in an improved textbook or supplementary reading packet for this course?

Suggestions of topics, style, focus, and specific books all valued and welcome.

@ejr43 I recall that you had suggested "Computational Physics" by Mark Newman

Prof. Muller used this book previously. He found it good on numerical techniques, but it was focused more on technique than physical applications. I've ordered a review copy.
