We have created an issue in Pivotal Tracker to manage this. Unfortunately, the Pivotal Tracker project is private so you may be unable to view the contents of the story.
The labels on this github issue will be updated when the story is started.
Thanks, Pete -- much appreciated!

Guidelines
Please include the following information in your write-up:
Who is the target user--operator, developer, other? Developers and Architects
What changed in the product, and why? For TAS 5.0 the functionality is largely the same however we want to highlight the optional configurability of the TAS portal and database support
Make the following consistent with the TAS developer portal or make the 5.0 documentation have a link to the 1.6 Documentation of TAP
A section regarding added external database support for MySQL and Postgresql
A copy of the configuration described in Tanzu Developer Portal 1.6
How does it work, in detail? How does the operator or developer use it? TAS 5.0 Developer portal has added support for an external MySQL or Postgresql database. This will allow the maintainers of the TAS system to persist any entities and other changes made to the TAS Developer Portal.
Secondly, we wanted to highlight some documentation that is already available in the Tanzu Developer Portal that we have made available in the TAS Developer Portal UI in ops manager. We have documentation here for app accelerators however we no longer need to allow for it to be a checkbox and configured here: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Tanzu-Application-Service/4.0/tas-for-vms/tas-portal-configure-tas-portal.html It is preconfigured to show up and enabled in TAS Portal. One thing we should do however is instead link to the configuration section in 1.6 https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Tanzu-Application-Platform/1.6/tap/tap-gui-customize-customize-portal.html
These configurations can be made in the ops manager UI as already listed above in the configure tas portal. It should be identified that this is where we can configure more than just UI. There they can configure an external database. In this example a user has configured an external postgresql database
What are the benefits to customers? Customers can optionally configure TAS Developer Portal to persist to external Mysql or Postgresql databases Customers can optionally configure TAS Developer Portal for branding etc.
Are there any example use cases that we might highlight?
