Onboarders don't use commercial products? #214

installing OpsMan & PAS/PKS from scratch is pretty error prone. In talking with @christarazi, he said that they felt rushed near the end of the week.

Since that step takes so much time, there isn't time for playing with and using the commercial product(s). New hires arrive on my product (a tile team) with no practical experience of using what we're producing.

What if we skipped the step of installing and configuring OpsMan & PAS and instead leveraged the Toolsmiths' environments to make a little more progress in closing the full loop of onboarding?

This is not the first time I have heard this concern.

A short term rotation (1 release train ~ 2 weeks) on {PKS,PAS} Release Engineering could be an option to get this experience and also allow new pivots to see how our release process works. If that is a bit long, a new pivot could work with a RelEnger to integrate and deploy a dev tile with that single story (~1-2 days) into PAS. This can be done before or after on-boarding week.
