serveo.net not working #37

Open iaglet opened 4 years ago

I suspect this might not be piwebcam though I have yet to make any remote notification tool work. When I enable serveo.net remote access I either get a blank page when accessing the remote address or I get an error 502.

Hi, I experienced something similar as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. From the piwebcam point of view the SSH tunnel to serveo is up but the device results not reachable so unfortunately the issue is not on our side. If you or anybody else has any alterative to recommend would be great, I loved the serveo approach since was simple, immediate to setup and feature-rich :-/

Some insight. I was playing around with this at the command line (serveo) and could get it to launch and open the connection. I did a search for processes launched to connect to serveo and when I try to test the syntax running the same command at the shell, I am getting errors. There is very little I can see for syntax.

Regards, Stephen W

Thanks for the feedback, this probably means I need to run a few additional tests on my side as well. Thanks!

According to https://chenhuijing.com/blog/tunnelling-services-for-exposing-localhost-to-the-web serveo.net has gone offline. Won't be easy to find a similar alternative which requires zero configuration, most of the other services needs a local agent installed or registration. I will investigate further but any suggestion is more than welcome.

And of course we need a custom subdomain we can explicitly select, otherwise the webcam will get a ramdom domain changing at every reboot which is not very useful for us
