I think I know what @Bimalkhimdung is talking about. As you type in, it suggest some path path/to/something which appears like if you hit the tab, it will autocomplete and save you from typing the path. Which most of the cases do not happen, rather if you hit tab it goes path/to/everyfile until the desired diris reached.

I think I know what is wrong. Instead of tab try right arrow -> on your keyboard. That is how the autocomplete works here.
