Do I have to decide which one to show on the Touch Bar - is it not possible to display both mute me icon and touch bar timer icon next to each other at the same time?

Unfortunately, Apple does not provide any options for achieving it. We really wait for a new macOS release and maybe they do something and make it possible to have more customizable touch bar apps.
