Since this repository is empty, I have not been able to find the source code of the app.
It means that the beta release that is actually available for testing is technically proprietary.
My question here is: when do you plan to release the source code (if planned)?
Even in a testing phase, publishing the source code would have the following advantages:
Users could build the app themselves and wouldn't have to blindly trust a binary that is not reproducible.
Users would be empowered because they wouldn't be dependent on the developer for fixing bugs - they could do it themselves, and then directly contribute to the project by submitting a pull request or a patch.
The app could be made available on F-Droid, which is a widely used alternative to Google Play Store within the FOSS community - but proprietary software is not allowed on it.
