Within the new WordPress editor (Gutenberg), the options created using CMB seems to be there and working, only that they are hidden through CSS or JS:

If we're making these options respond again to Page Template changes, the Hero Area section from all of our themes will be compatible with the new editor (eg. Rosa, Osteria, Mies, Pile,

This issue is also affecting Timber Lite. There are to commits that address this issue https://github.com/pixelgrade/pixtypes/commit/1009542ceab16c29336248ff01d831f69fdc1285 & https://github.com/pixelgrade/pixtypes/commit/d0c8cb5e4fefff7b8711a91142231be8154ba577 but I think there have been some changes of markup in the latest updates of WordPress.
