Invalid app name #56

Open GhostyJade opened 4 years ago

Hi. I'm trying to install Phoenix Jailbreak on my iPod touch 5th gen running iOS 9.3.5 Currently, AppDeploy throws a message saying "The name for this app is invalid." My Mac is running macOS Catalina beta 10.15.3 (19D62e)

Related issues: #46 and #26

Maybe this will be marked as a duplicate issue, I know

I was able to get past this error (but stopped at another: "An error occured while installing the app") by editing Phœnix to Phoenix under Bundle display name in Info.plist by changing Phoenix5.ipa to .zip, extracting, navigating to Payload > Phoenix.app > Show Package Contents

..might be an char encoding issue with the app itself that could easily be remedied, though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tried downloading AltDeploy v1.0 (👍🏻) + v1.0.1 (👎🏻) to see if that would help..

Tried closing + opening the app again, too. Invalid app name issue is gone, but still failing.

Results:

Still getting "An error occured while installing the app" on v1.0 + v1.1 with stock Phoenix5.ipa + aforementioned modified version when sending files to device.

I've tried using v1.0 and it works..Thank you OwO

I just had the same error and these fixes do not work for me.

Setup

Errors 1.0 = An error occured while installing the app. 1.1 = The name for this app is invalid.

Am I missing something here?

deepfriedfilth commented 4 years ago

@hrvstr I'm not the dev but good to at least confirm the issue is consistent running the same versions of AltDeploy on the same macOS version with different hardware with different IPAs

if you guys can't install Phoenix jailbreak - you need rename file Phoenix5.ipa to Phoenix5.zip, unpack it, edit Payload/Phoenix.app/Info.plist and change 'Phœnix' to 'Phoenix', pack again Payload folder and change name to Phoenix.ipa. Job is done!

Hi! Just installed phoenix on my ipad min running ios 9.3.5 If after following the step from @KonstantinKuklin you get:

"An error occured while installing the app" on v1.1

Delete the phoenix app from your ios device, that how i get it working.

deepfriedfilth commented 4 years ago

Alternatively, rename the app bundle ID when creating a new provisioning profile via Xcode, the app display name while you resign it with iOS App Signer, before attempting to install on device using AltDeploy/Xcode (should go without saying this method requires macOS)

I just had the same error and these fixes do not work for me.

Setup

* mac OS 10.14.6

* iOS 9.3.5.

* iPad 3

* Phoenix4 Jailbreak

Errors 1.0 = An error occured while installing the app. 1.1 = The name for this app is invalid.

Am I missing something here?

I've used Phoenix5 JB, not the 4 version...

I think that, since so many people have this issue, I let this issue open...when a fix will be published, this will be removed.

I just tried changing the name of the app in the .list file and it works perfectly.

What did you change it to?
