DS-009: Voltage tolerances on connectors #15

The many connectors (I2C, CAN, Telemetry... ) in the standard have 5V power delivery. At the same time the "Analog power" Vcc lines should default to 5.3V.

Unfortunately the many Pixhawk autopilot hardware and every from CUAV which I know, have input power directly coupled to output connectors. The voltage coming from the power module is around 5.4V and is slightly variable depending on temperature. Therefore the exact 5.0V power on at least on I2C or CAN ports cannot be met, but 5.5V for example is a limiting value for many silicon MCUs. There should be some standard voltage ranges (like 4.5-5.4V) that should be acceptable for connected devices instead of the exact voltage value.

I agree!
