I took a quick look through the source code and couldn't find the source for
the desktop version... was I just overlooking this or is it not included?
I could potentially (with help, probably) attempt a fix (considering it's
open-source).

I don't believe the desktop app is open source, only the android apk. Unless
it's on another code host somewhere. I would help as much as I can if the code
is found or the project owner uploads the desktop app source code.

I agree that Notification Center integration would be a nice feature.
I haven't found the client source anywhere either. As a simple workaround I
have been using the terminal-notifier.app to deliver the notifications to
Notification Center in Mountain Lion. To make this work, install the
terminal-notifier.app, disable notifications in Android Notifier Desktop,
enable "Copy to clipboard" and make it run the following command on incoming
messages:
/Applications/terminal-notifier.app/Contents/MacOS/terminal-notifier -title "My
phone" -message `pbpaste`
terminal-notifier.app is available from
https://github.com/alloy/terminal-notifier/downloads

I have found the source of the desktop apps. They are in a different repository
and it's not obvious how to reach it in the google code UI.
When going to the source tab select the "oldsvn" repository from the drop down.
All the desktop apps seem to be in there. I would be quite interested in
helping out with migrating from growl to mountain lion notification center.

The notification center integration with terminal-notifier.app is genius. Got
it up and running almost instantly. only downfall is the terminal icon but I
can live with that. Thanks for this #7

If someone could explain to me how to
"make it run the following command on incoming messages:
/Applications/terminal-notifier.app/Contents/MacOS/terminal-notifier -title "My
phone" -message `pbpaste` "
from post #7, that would be very helpful. The only thing I haven't gotten to
work yet.
