Maybe GIT or SFTP/SCP support would be better? Trusting Google with company and client code is a no-no for us.

One of those will also be an additional mode in the near future.

I guess SFTP, GIT maybe too complex to build into Chrome as an App?

There are some JS GIT libraries out there so it is definitely a good possibility
