Feature Request: Custom Sorting and Grouping of Tags #116

hey! I have a lot of tags that are not nested for various reasons. I usually get lost in them. The ability tos sort in custom order or create "folders" for them would help so much!

You can make a note and simply enter the tags into the note in the order you want them in. You can then right-click them to access the TW menus.

Sorry, my issue was unclear I would like to custom sort the tags in the Tag Pane.

I know, I was providing an alternative that you can actually have and use today. You can even get drag and drop reorganization with the Outline plugin, and also drag a tab with the note into your sidebar, where you'll have it as an alternative to the tags pane.

Basically, just make a bullet list of the tags you want, like this:

- <a class=tag href="#some-tag">Some Tag</a>

Then switch to reading mode instead of editing mode, and drag the tab into the sidebar. You can then leave it there, and just open another copy in editing mode to make changes to it. You can drag items around if you have the Outliner plugin, as well as keyboard commands for re-organizing. Your custom tags pane will be able to collapse and expand, rename, etc., just no counts or sorting.

Also, you may want to look at the Tag Folder plugin, which allows you to "pin" tags in its view in a specific order. Not sure how that works or if it's suitable for your use case, but definitely something else to investigate.
