Publishing full length markdown notes? #1

it'd be cool if it converted the posts to markdown and posted those to nostr as well.

Thanks, yup! - that's exactly what my to-do list has in mind for "long-form nostr posting". I hope I'll have time to start working on that soon.

@rabble So I created a branch to explore this and I immediately ran into difficulties with turning a wordpress post’s content into markdown. I manage various wordpress customer sites and so use them to test with real-world data and it turns out that there is often a lot of stuff inside a wordpress content field that is not html, so not easily converted to markdown. Stuff like wordpress shortcodes for example.

I’m searching for prior art on how to take a WP post and reliably convert it to reasonably clean and simple markdown. If you know of anything I should look at, let me know.
