Added OS X support, plus some clean up.

Sorry for the delayed response. Been busy building my startup company! I feel confident enough to merge this into develop, and will prepare a new release to NPM from it.

Yay, nice! Good luck with the startup. :smile: I'll keep an eye out for the release, for the time being I'll use my own GitHub branch as a dependency of the package I'm developing.
