What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to install on CyanogenMod6 (which is Android 2.2 + root)
2. It fails with "Application not installed"

Had the same issue on standart Froyo w/o root. Device - HTC Desire.

After downloading the apk you must have to sign that apk file then only it will 
be installed.
