The mapping system will take advantage of what are known as Brushes

Brushes will place Data from a given source into a map layer in a shape 
determined by both the base shape of the brush and the tiles passed over by the 
brush

A Source is some panel that can contain data and allow the user to select some 
range of it to be used in a brush that activates the source.
