Astro: Left speaker makes static noise when plugged in over USB to laptop. #1

Unsure why, but my Astro's left speaker (UK keyboard, UK plug) makes a funny sound, almost like static, when plugged into my laptop over USB.

Android FW: 11/V01.

I have and had similar problems with both my Cosmos, also on the charging cable, to the extent that I always have an audio cable ready to plugin near the charger to mute those noises.

(Low confidence observation: It seems to me they appear and get worse as the devices get older.)

I'm now getting this on my Astro - when it's not charging. Just idling. Playing music stops it. It's like an idle sound it plays.

Just experienced this on my astro while streaming music. In soft passages of the music the noise (static, brown noise, crackling) is ruining the music completely.

Charge was at 95%. I seem to remember that this gets worse on the Cosmo when it's full. Maybe it's worse if the charge is nearing completion.

Would that point at the charging circuit somehow? (Wild speculation...)

Yeah, my astro is brand new and is displaying this issue and it's quite bad, so apparently there's no correlation at least in this case.

I need to add that this happened over the headphone jack connected to my stereo. I don't hear any noise over the speakers right now while it's plugged into the usb cable from my usb hub and almost at full charge (98%) and the headphone cable is disconnected.

It could be the (cheap) headphone cable picking up static from the usb cable.
