iphone camera shutter wont open

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. shutter on camera wont open 
2. iphone 3g 3.0
3. shutter wont open in any app video or camera

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

This just happened to me, too.

I'm running a jailbroken iPhone 3GS with 3.0.  I took pictures with my phone 
yesterday.  I synced the pictures 
to my laptop and then went to take another picture.  That's when the bug 
appeared for me.  If I rotate the 
phone, the icons rotate.  I can go home with no problem.  I can open the camera 
roll.  I am able to switch from 
camera to video, but only if I let the application sit open for a minute or so.

One thing to note, the icon to go to the camera roll still has the last picture 
I took even though that photo is 
no longer on the phone.  I'm not sure if this is normal behavior or now.

This could have nothing to do with the jb and more to do with something funky 
in the photo syncing process.  
That's just a guess though.
