Also 3 questions:

1) is there a 3rd state in addition to on and off like "started with errors"?

2) is there anything else that should be seen at all times in addition to on/off like "offline mode" (still serving while disconnected, or # of recent client connections)?

3) should there be a "minimized stetus mode" with some indicators (not sure what android conventions are but as on any desktop toolbar.

These wireframes look awesome Eva. I will try to provide some more feedback next week. As for your questions.

1) I would say the third state would be "failed to start". Even though the startup phase of the server doesn't to much i could see a non too uncommon one being a port conflict.

2) I can't think of anything.

3) Yeah, there is the notification bar (lower right corner on my tablet) and we can dump notifications in there like the server going on or offline. I don't know how hard it is to get a persistent icon in there but i imagine it is possible.

Looks great @ohmu808 , is there an icon set that you are working from i can get at? For instance the map icon in the layer preview. Thanks!

All icons are default Android icons so should be what's in android.R.drawable.xxx (autocomplete) as in this stencil:

Regarding some icons that would be nice what about having icons for data/layer types? Like:

• Point
• Linestring
• Polygon
• Tile / Raster

Rationale being that it would save some space on handsets where real estate is limited. Perhaps we could draw some inspiration from the geosilk icon set?

Thanks for the icons Eva. It looks like the linestring icon is missing. I tried to use the tool to create one from the original geosilk version but it doesn't come out looking quite the same... so i must be missing a step.

Awesome, you rock Eva. While on icon requests I have another lower priority one (really only if you have time) for a tile icon (different from the raster one). Basically I was thinking something like this.

Just a rough sketch, sure you can come up with something better :) But basically the idea is that a raster is made up of a much finer grid (with cells having different values) a tile is a recursive (usually quad tree) structure where the tiles usually represent the "same thing".

Re-added icons with #333 and #666 at full opacity, plus the tile icons.

I've got icon-making down to a quick workflow so let me know if you need more.

I guess the last icon request would be the launcher icon? Do we want to stick with the geoserver icon? I guess in the least I can switch to the boundless branded icon.
