Concern that labels for CBSA and DMA get lost #41

example..Zoom 9...turn on labels for CBSA and DMA...they are lost compared to very large Baltimore label within Bing base map..how do we ensure our labels do not get lost? This is somewhat related to a previous question raised by Steve Gavin.

This is going to continue to be a problem whenever you overlay labels on top of an already labeled map. The 2 strategies to take are either:

  1. Use fonts, sizes and colors that are different enough from the base map labels that they are more prominent and dominant than the base map labels
  2. Use an unlabeled base map. Unfortunately, an unlabeled version of the bing road map is not available from bing.

Something I think that has worked is to decrease the opacity of the bing road layer. Can we try this one more time and see if people like or dislike it?
