Drag and drop is not working correctly for duplicated layers

Way to replicate:

Duplicate the layer on QGIS
change the style of the copied layer
Drag and drop to publish the layer to geoserver
Open the catalog and confirm that the layer imported was the original one
Now publish the layer using publish layer to this catalog
Open the catalog and confirm that a new layer with the correct name (and style) was published.

Actually, using the "publishing layers to this catalog" also adds a layer with the original name, but creates a style with the correct name.
