It can take a little while to publish a layer to Geoserver from the QGIS workspace (same for GeoNode) and currently there is no clear feedback to the user that the process is actually being done and that it is working on it (only the mouse cursor changes but it kind of look like the software is just stuck). It would be better to have a more explicit waiting message.
