zoom in/out and pan is considerably slower when using the tabbed interface #381

regardless if basemaps are added to the webapp.

gioman commented 7 years ago

also true basically for any other control (zoom buttons, sliders, etc.).

bartvde commented 7 years ago

We haven't been able to identify a cause for this, both apps have the exact same set of widgets and data @gioman ?

gioman commented 7 years ago

@bartvde no differences: click preview in simple mode then click again in tabbed mode. Then try the same app in two tabs of the same browser.

volaya commented 7 years ago

Moved to OSX and I can confirm this now. It's slow like hell, even with a tiny layer

bartvde commented 7 years ago

in chrome or safari? can you send me the app?

bartvde commented 7 years ago

also can you guys reproduce this in our tabbed example? http://boundlessgeo.github.io/sdk-apps/tabbed/#map=9783.93962050256/-16839563.6/8850169.51/0

@bartvde what's wrong with this tabbed webapp?

@gioman I mean is that slow for you as well?

gioman commented 7 years ago

@gioman I mean is that slow for you as well?

@bartvde on FF on Linux it works reasonably well for me.

bartvde commented 7 years ago

so the tabbed app on gh-pages doesn't give the same slow behaviour as the WAB generated one @gioman ?

gioman commented 7 years ago

@bartvde hard to say. I would need to publish the locally WAB generated weapps on gh-pages or try run your webapp application here locally, then compare.
