Which ESP32 model should we order?

For now we are thinking about ESP32-S3

• Two wifi interfaces
• WIFI long range
• Cheap
• Should arrive in a reasonable amount of time
• Maybe only one should be more powerful (the master of the network that processes data)

A few useful links on the products supported by Espressif:

We're interesting in buying devkits (at least at this phase).

Probably ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1 and ESP32-S3-DevKitM-1 are good options. I think they are about ~15 euros per dev board. If that's too high, then we could choose something else.

Consider e.g. that:

• Our system is not really that compute intensive, thus single core alternatives could suffice.
  • OTOH, WiFi keys generation actually can be quite compute heavy. From my experience for each WiFi connection establishment a CPU core is 100% occupied for ~1 second (see also https://esp32.com/viewtopic.php?t=28171, seems that somebody else shares my experience). Depending on the network architecture that we finally decide to use, this reason alone could push us to a dual-core option.
