The new certless host installer is going live on certain new management planes in the near future. Adding support for this in express would fix the feature gap for onboarding hosts of users who have this new host installer.
Express now checks for the presence of the certless installer on the management plane. If present, express uses it for bootstrapping the initial pf9 services on the host. If the new installer is not present, it will fall back to the previous method of bootstrapping the host.
Certain limitations like multi-region support are recorded. Also, validation is based on Ubuntu hosts only.
