Basically just doing steps 1-4, copying/pasting the source in the doc to ~/.platformio/platforms/myplatform/platform.json and ~/.platformio/platforms/myplatform/builder/main.py, then running ~/.platformio/penv/bin/pio platform search (now deprecated for pkg, btw) which comes up with stuff online, so I append the query myplatform, which results in the message stated in the title for this post.
