it allows me define package supervisor elsewhere without having to patch. it also allows me to subclass supervisor to modify for i.e. from where the package has to be installed (i.e. pip)
Your use case certainly makes sense. I'm not a fan of the one-liner, but it seems to follow the style guide. I'll merge it.
