What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. in python console
import pyodbc
mc = pyodbc("DSN=Hive", autocommit = True)
x = mc.execute("SHOW TABLES ;")
fails with the following error:
Error: ('HY000', "[HY000] [Cloudera][HiveODBC] (35) Error from Hive: error
code: '40000' error message: 'Error while compiling statement: FAILED:
ParseException line 1:8 cannot recognize input near '0' '<EOF>' '<EOF>''. (35)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to be able to fetch the result of the query.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using Python 3.4, iodbc on an Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit.
Please provide any additional information below.
The same commands that cause the problems in Python 3.4 work just fine in
Python 2.7.6
