firmware update fails, lost sync. #123

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I connect minimosd to usb via FTDI DT232RL chip
2. Open MinimOSD-Extra_R800 > OSD_Config.exe
3. Options > Update Firmware > MinimOsd_Extra_Copter_R800.hex (plane does the
same)
4. Sometimes update gest to 40%, sometimes 16%, sometimes 5%. Everytime it
stops, and says "Upload failed. Lost sync. Try using arduino instead."
5. Trying to Read from OSD says "EEPROM mapping is outdated."
6. I have also tried updating bootloader with arduino/usbasp and it seems to
update, but it doesnt help with the problem.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd like to see a working minimosd but never seen one. Is it an unicorn?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
MinimOSD-Extra_R800
Windows 7 64bit

between minim and ftdi I have 5 pins connected >
GND to GND
RX to TX
TX to RX
5v to Vcc
DTR to GRN.

Also tried straight 6pin connection with even worse results.

Had the same problem.
I swap the FTDI CTS with the GND and solved the problem! so it is:

FTDI to mimOSD

GND to BLK
CTS to GND
VCC to +5V
TXD to RX
RXD to TX
RTS to CRN

Hope it helps

As I wrote there already, also tried straight 6pin connection with even worse
results.

I attached 2 photos to demonstrate how I have tried connecting these. Neither
way works.
