I want to open a discussion about which annotation tags we should add to genes that might be helpful in the future. We should decide soon as many will start annotating genes from this day on. :)

Can you elaborate? It would be nice to have a starting point for this discussion. Are you referring to tags that would go into the last column of the GFF?

thanks for the bump ^^ I thought about which tags – like name or annotator etc. – we should add to the genome file. As I am not that familiar with genome annotation I just wanted to open this issue in case there are more tags interesting to be added by the community than name&annotator. I do not have specific suggestions so far. But It is probably worth a thought when anyways adding details to a gene.
