Blue connection status bar, delayed initial connection status response #35

In the preferences_api branch, the tablet now seems to take a while to connect to a boat. The bar will remain blue this entire time and the boat is unresponsive. This can last well over a minute, making it seem as if there is a connection issue. Inspection of the phone and tablet revealed both to be on the same WiFi, so no issues should have occurred.

Didn't experience this during my deployments. Tablet was a galaxy and phone was nexus 5x.

Kindle fire tablet, nexus 5x phone. It has happened to me several times, but not every time. I can't detect a pattern.
