probably not this repo's issue. i ran into this; i had to

update unity to include a java sdk installation
modify the JAVA_HOME var to point to the right openjdk dir
in unity check and uncheck the boxes under Preferences->External tools->Andriod
for the JDK Installed with unity, i had to uncheck a box and add a slash at the end of the path

/Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor/2019.4.22f1/PlaybackEngines/AndroidPlayer/OpenJDK/
