I do remember said previous idea ... think at the time I argued we should generalize the concept to generically assigning categories to documents, quite possibly also looping them through to treatments.
Definitely a doable thing, but we need to define some guidelines (or even restrict input to predefined strings with central maintenance) to ensure we can reliably map categories to project logos, etc.
Such categories could also be included in the stats, of course, so to allow filtering, etc.

Now that you mention it I do remember the comment. Fair enough, I think it can work like that as well.

For sure! Needs to be really well defined, otherwise it can turn into a nightmare.

Awesome
Guido, not sure if this came up before, but Donat suggested that we could have projects as a new field of metadata.
Frankly, I'd prefer a dedicated input, as document categories will most likely not be a drop-down, but a list of checkboxes, so to facilitate assigning multiple categories ... the project being one of multiple use cases of this to-add feature.
However, at this point I'm very much open regarding how we implement this, as the mechanism is yet to be designed, especially regarding how we control the available values, and how we manage who can modify the respective list.

Makes total sense to me!
If I understand, we need a controlled list of names for projects, like staring from here and included all the projects that will be stopped at some point.
A article/treatment should be assignable to multiple projects, eg on that does only treatment, in another that does the material citations etc.
Could we also consider some hierarchy in projects, such as the Nematod TNA project, that is part of BiCIKL?
We should probably make this a priority, since we need this in the BiCIKL TNA
Sharing a thought:
What if we had an identifier/label in the treatment pages showing that they are relevant for specific projects? These could be applied with a previous idea I had of adding projects as an attribute to papers so they could be filtered when looking for stats.
Here's a very simple mockup
