this is part of the CAS press release

Perhaps something like this? reference_group followed by nomenclature

myrmoteras commented 2 years ago

it would be the other way round: discussion We recommend regognizing these lineages as distinct species and remove Nomenclature S.ephele referenceGroup 1965 from synonymy with S. thomenses (Bocage 1873)

Ah yes, I misread the sentence.

myrmoteras commented 2 years ago

let me know, when this is done - an interesting contrast to what CAS writes in tis press release

@truschel has already made the extraction though she didn't upload it as she was waiting for the discussion on the treatment.

Shouldn't there be two species? The original and the one that has been taken out of synonymy?

@truschel please see @myrmoteras's comment I think it went under your radar

Since this was left hanging I decided to take another look at it.

Even though there are technically two species being "treated", there isn't enough text to warrant two treatments, in my view.

Currently we have a treatment for Schistometopum ephele: discussion we recommend recognizing these lineages as distinct species and remove nomenclature S. ephele Taylor, 1965 reference_group from synonymy with S. thomense (Bocage 1873).

If we were to split these into two treatments, we would lose information for each of them.
