My colleagues and I noticed that many PLAZI datasets that have occurrences where the country provided is United Kingdom but the coordinates show a location in Oceania/Australia. See for example this record: https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/4419070306
Looking at the title of the corresponding publications, it seems like the country should be Australia. But the occurrences appear when looking for UK records.
(I selected all the records where the coordinates don't match the country provided, many of them are in Australia but some might be in other countries as well, I assume some manual checking is needed).
Hi PLAZI,
My colleagues and I noticed that many PLAZI datasets that have occurrences where the country provided is
United Kingdom
but the coordinates show a location in Oceania/Australia. See for example this record: https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/4419070306Looking at the title of the corresponding publications, it seems like the country should be Australia. But the occurrences appear when looking for UK records.
It looks like 53 datasets could be concerned: https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/datasets?country=GB&issue=COUNTRY_COORDINATE_MISMATCH&publishing_org=7ce8aef0-9e92-11dc-8738-b8a03c50a862&advanced=1&occurrence_status=present Would it be possible to check the datasets?
