Hope to improve official multilingual support as soon as possible to avoid (potential) conflict #68

In fact, this Issue is not to ask the author for anything, but a reminder for those who want to do multilingual translation in the future, let him/her/they know that someone is already doing translation work in a certain language, because I have seen that there is no Issue about multi-language support, so I plan to translate directly and submit a PR initially.

However, before start to translate, I took a glance at the currently active forks... It's amazing, there are already two forks working at the Chinese(Simplified) at the same time:

Content comparison by @Steve-xmh vs Content Comparison by @justjavac

Finally, I think I should point out that I'm just a passer-by, so while I hope that if possible any developer looking to translate "youre-the-os" can reply here which language that he/she/they want to add, my advocacy has nothing to do with the original author and does not represent the opinions of plbrault

This is amazing indeed! If someone wants to submit a PR to implement multilingual support, I will happily look into it! And I can volunteer myself for a French translation!

I tried one of the Chinese forks, and noticed that the loading time is exponentially longer. Is this a font issue? What are possible solutions?

Is this a font issue?

this font is huge.

I've only briefly looked through the forks regarding this, but it looks like nobody's implemented proper i18n/l10n support, correct?

Anyway CJK fonts are going to be significantly larger than their Latin counterparts no matter what. I think the smallest Japanese font, for example, I have installed on my system is a little over 2MB (IBM Plex Sans JP), but they range up to 50MB (Noto Serif CJK). Ideally I feel like these should just be loaded from the system, if possible? I haven't yet looked at the repository's contents yet.

How it it going? As soon as someone structure to have other languages files I will start to contribute in PT-BR translation.

Maybe we could use something like python-i18n
