plepe / OpenStreetBrowser

An application to ‘browse’ the information in the displayed part of the map. Similar to common Wikis and also the main page of http://www.openstreetmap.org the website shows a narrow menu on the left side, most of the page is used for the display of the map. In contrast to most Wikis the menu is not static, but rather the content of the map can be browsed in categories. For the map a special style has been developed (sorry guys, I neither like the default Mapnik nor Osmarender styles), and special overlays are displayed to support the current browsed categories. When you click on an object (either from the list or directly on the map) informations on this object are displayed.

Residencial subtypes #79

Whereas that there's a category Residential and landuse=residential can be broken into subtypes with residential tag, it would be nice if the pop-up and the left panel showed the value of residential tag.

Per the wiki page, I would support urban, rural and gated to start; university seems not to be accepted and halting_site has a wiki page only in French. The others would fall in "others" category.

The taginfo shows all the other values.

I just updated the category and created common entries in the translation file. It shows the residential type in the description in brackets, e.g. "(rural)".

Hope you like it :-)

About residential=HDB: This seems to be some special residential building type, see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Singapore#Buildings

It's quite common (2278 entries according to taginfo, plus 918 in lower case). That's why I added it to the list ...

About residential=HDB

I saw that one too in the taginfo, but I hadn't taken it in consideration because it was quite Singapore-centric.

Thank you. :)

Yeah, I know. Do you think, I should remove it?

No, I just said why I hadn't suggested it at first. :)
