i'll have to check into this over the weekend. did you try to restart the service and make the service is there (including a reboot and trying again)
ya i tried reboot the server and running it again. it says unionfs.service: Start request repeated too quickly.
everything "looks" like its working correctly. videos are moving to gdrive, i have a union rclone folder .
I'm having the same issue, any ideas?
Also a quick question, I'm following part 3 of the guide. What was the purpose of installing unions-fuse if the unionfs section of the guide uses unionfs and not unions-fuse?
Thanks so much for the awesome guide! I'll work myself through the rest today!
team, @daveftw84 and @faiysal, take out (cow)
check the script again and you'll see the update, open again if there are issues. if you have success, post anyways.

restart the service, see restart... if it's already running... running the command again doesn't work. you have to do restart.... learned this the hardway awhile back.
sudo systemctl restart rclone.service sudo systemctl status rclone.service

the purpose of the unionfs is to create an merged drive. so basically when your stuff downloads... it bounces to your local drive. also this tricks sonarr and raddar. problem is sonnar and radarr require the DRIVE to be WRITEABLE. so basically, your creating a writeable drive... where the plexdrive4 is read only, so data cannot bounce to it... but since your /mnt/rclone-move is writeable, the unionfs moves the data to the local drive. so basically, your merging two drives into one. it's kinda hard to explain, but I had to do this one windows. in the end, your data is now on your local drive and then syncs with the bandwidth limit so you never hit the google upload ban.

also since plexdrive4 is being used AS the content, it never hits an API ban. If you use rclone, it can tend to trigger it.

oops an idoit, i thought we are doing the UNIONFS, not rclone, didn't pay attention to what you did. the rclone is already working... making sure you edit the file and remove cow from the unionfs service and then do this below, i added restart for you
sudo systemctl daemon-reload sudo systemctl enable unionfs.service sudo systemctl restart unionfs.service sudo systemctl status unionfs.service

i just did a sudo systemctl status unionfs.service i know, lol i did say everything lookslike its working but i wanted to make sure after rebuilding whole thing lol
but.. it looked it stalled at 5pm
ran it again and it's dead, but you see the mount stayed... so i wonder if it dies because it's already working? make some sense. so i'm going to do a sudo reboot, if it cd /mnt/rclone-union shows your stuff, the service is working... rebooting now.

you have to install which is easy. tunneling it? in theory you should be able to. i used smb and it link to my windows. smb is a local thing drive thing. unsure if you can tunnel remotely.

that's weird... if you do this again sudo systemctl status unionfs.service ... it gives a bunch of errors like as though it's not working, but it is. maybe something good to note... or i'll take out the service line. maybe it always shows a failure somewhere, but in reality is working. the way it truly fails is when you do not see /mnt/rclone-union ... but quetsion... the stuff that's in there.... is that your downloaded stuff on your local or is that your plexdrive?

im using plexkodiconnect addon to serve media, it does a good job but some addons fails to see shows, loads movies up perfect. inside folders is empty, seems to be good enough for addons to pull up movies with empty movie folders but tv shows have sub folders aand also multiple videos. plex apk seems to have issuse direct playing videos with dts , forcing a transcode.. but i was hope that tunneling the smb share to clients will show everything like a local share. i was thinking about building a vpn into the same server as the plex server, or maybe rent a vps to do it... i also have a m3u that has unlimted connections but locked down to an user agent, i hope i can send requests throa proxy server to spoof the user agent to add iptv to the plex server using iptv bundle
ya i don't use kodi at all. i just use plex and my apple tv4. 0 issues. did you see the mount work? so when you look at /mnt/rclone-union ... your seeing your LOCAL items and PLEXDRIVE at the same time if that makes any sense?

im using plexkodiconnect addon to serve media, it does a good job but some addons fails to see shows, loads movies up perfect. inside folders is empty, seems to be good enough for addons to pull up movies with empty movie folders but tv shows have sub folders aand also multiple videos. plex apk seems to have issuse direct playing videos with dts , forcing a transcode.. but i was hope that tunneling the smb share to clients will show everything like a local share. i was thinking about building a vpn into the same server as the plex server, or maybe rent a vps to do it... i also have a m3u that has unlimted connections but locked down to an user agent, i hope i can send requests throa proxy server to spoof the user agent

in the kodi library, kodi see's all shows and movies and plays np, most addons can see the videos in library and serve directly from it but extendid info mod fails at tv shows. reason why i want kodi to handle it is the intergration of kodi addons into plex server plus kodi can handle alot with out forcing the server to transcode the video or audio. it can transcode it self
so there is a work around, you can run vmware workstation on your local computer, run plexdrive and have your local machine SMB... it's really easy. but i use a windows machine as the primary.
your in luck... i have some notes i took:
sudo apt-get install samba
sudo smbpasswd -a gforce
create new passwd
sudo cp /etc/samba/smb.conf ~ << make backup copy
sudo nano /etc/samba/smb.conf
[plexdrive4]
path = /mnt/plexdrive4
valid users = gforce
read only = yes
sudo service smbd restart
access via windows
\ip\plexdrive4

ya it makes since, i figured it was working, just scared the script set to run in back was erroring out. if you say its running as you intended im good
this will force all clients to be running a local vps?
no these instructions are a local virtual machine i installed on, then the bottom... i used windows and type the IP\samaba name and it came up. just something to help out.

so i changed instructions and took out sudo systemctl status unionfs.service.... so it prevents people from getting confused.

last note, when you have your stuff downloading, lets say tv shows...
it will target /mnt/rclone-union/tv ...
in reality...
it will bounce to /mnt/rclone-move/tv <<< which is your local drive...
then this kicks in from the move.service
rclone move --bwlimit 10M --tpslimit 4 --max-size 99G --log-level INFO --stats 15s local:/mnt/rclone-move gdrive:/
so if you look at, it will move from local:/mnt-rclone-move to your gdrive at no more than 10M which prevents the upload ban.
