Does it still occur when you force full screen? ("Force Fullscreen Display")
No it does NOT. I have checked the ‘Full Screen’ check box under the Settings > Main menu but it has made no difference whatsoever. In fact one of the reasons why It is clearly a bug in the PMP is that the check mark in ‘Full Screen’ check box DISAPPEARS Every time the bug ‘strikes’ without fail as described in my initial bug report.
Please note this was not happening at all in versions of PMP of 2017 and before and may be even early 2018. So the bug was I traduced in one of the updates in early 2018. I could have proved it if I could get hold of the latest 2017 update version of PMP for Windows.

you can solve this problem, which effects PMP as well as other non plex players, buy adding a EDID sender into the mix.
i have been using them for over 10 years on windows based HTPCS
its often known as the quarter screen issue or half screen issue
a EDID sender will keep windows feed with a EDID 24/7, which means windows wont change resolution etc when your AMP is switched off (the root cause of the issue)
Hi, I've been experiencing the same sort of problem, with Apple. Only I am not seeing a quarter of the screen. It is about 2/3 and centered. In the 2017 versions of PMP this problem was not occurring. Should a EDID fix this problem too, or is this a bug in the new PMP?
I have placed a clean install of PMP (including cache etc.), without any luck. Every time the tv is turned off, I get this problem.
Even when I'm connected with VNC at the same time to my mac mini, I turn of the tv and back on. Same problem.
I am having exactly the same issue as @mousetail85. MacMini -> AV receiver -> TV. When TV is turned off, PMP in full screen mode shrinks into the center of the screen, with left and right parts of the screen black. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/wlAZWPV
Switching to another application (basically going to main desktop) and going back to Plex full screen fixes Plex layout.
Test environment
PMS Version: 1.13.2.5154 (but bug PMP occurred in or around March - PMS on auto update) PMP Version: Current Version: 2.14.1.880 (but bug introduced in PMP in 3 or 4 updates ago - PMP on auto update public version) Platform (Windows/OSX/Embedded): Windows 10 Pro 1803 version
Steps to reproduce
Plex Media Player GUI is displayed on TV with the Full Screen check box checked
TV connected to Windows 10 Box through Denon AV Receiver
TV is set to go on standby mode after 2 hours of inactivity; so every time TV goes on stand by mode, through HDMI link to the AV Receiver, it will also puts the AV receiver to standby mode
The Windows 10 buy running Plex Media Player is set never to go on standby mode as it is also the Plex server
when the TV is switched back on (from being in standby mode) Plex Media Player is shown in a small window taking up about a quarter of the TV screen only. if you go to settings and you will see the check mark in the Full Screen check box has disappeared. if you check the Full Screen setting again, the PMP window will immediately revert to full screen again;
Current behavior
if you exit PMP manually at any time before the TV/AV Receiver go on auto standby (within that 2 hours window of inactivity), even if the TV goes on standby mode and you turn it back on and you restart PMP manually, you get PMP in full screen. So the Full Screen setting is ONLY lost if PMP is running in Full Screen Mode when the TV goes on standby mode.
This has been occurring since the PMP update of in or around March 2018. Before that since the very first version of PMP this issue never existed. MY Setup has not changed at all and all other AV equipment are in great working condition. I would goas far as saying I had this identical issue with XBMC around the time it changed name to KODI and as KODI people did not do anything about it I switched to PLEX PASS with PMP and that problem went completely away. but after so many updates of PMP, the bug seems to have been introduced in PMP.
