Thank you very much for considering to contribute a new localisation for biblatex
!
Step one is to have a look at the .lbx
checklist in the Wiki: https://github.com/plk/biblatex/wiki/Checklist-for-submitting-a-new-localisation-file-(.lbx)
Translate as many strings as possible from english.lbx
(the file that contains all defined strings, if you are more familiar with another language, you can also look at the relevant .lbx
file, but only the English file is guaranteed to be complete). You can test your file by compiling it against https://github.com/plk/biblatex/blob/dev/doc/latex/biblatex/examples/03-localization-keys.tex (put your .lbx
file and 03-localization-keys.tex
into the same directory, then switch 03-localization-keys.tex
to your language).
You can also try to work with the date formats and format extras if you feel familiar enough with the code, but if you don't want to, just answer all the questions in the checklist for your language here in this discussion. We will then try to find the required code together.
Experience has shown that sometimes new biblatex
features or hacks are required to accommodate all grammatical features of the target language. We will try to find a usable solution together.
See https://github.com/plk/biblatex/issues/972, https://github.com/plk/biblatex/issues/867, https://github.com/plk/biblatex/issues/717 for recent examples of efforts to add new languages and how it went down.
Hello, this is long due, but I'd like to provide an Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) localization for biblatex. Please let me know the requirements. Many thanks!
