DECISION: Create and provide (a) guide(s) for managing meeting flow #2

Open plocket opened 4 years ago

plocket commented 4 years ago

Why

To give curious or struggling project managers some ideas of how to effectively manage the little time we have during meetings.

How

Create a “How To” template for evening meeting structure, documenting good practices for providing updates, surfacing issues, assigning work, and managing flow of evening (to share with all projects).

Pros:

  1. Useful for when pm's are not available.
  2. Useful for new projects that aren't sure how to establish these practices.

Cons:

  1. Another thing for people to learn.

  2. Comment: Brought up as an idea. No vote because each team will have to decide for itself.

Here's an old guide for a previous group: https://github.com/codeforboston/cliff-effects/wiki/Meta:-How-to-Meeting. May base this document on that one.

It probably needs a description of when this particular format would be useful and when it wouldn't.

This is also a strategy for teams.
