Kim asked me to post this here, he said @ericof has some ideas to fix this:

The Google group security@plone.org has intermittent email delivery issues. Mail is apparently getting dropped. I have seen my own mail into the group bounced several times in the past, and just a few days ago a poster claimed he had sent email a while ago without any sign of it on the list.

No reason to keep this open, IMHO the main issue is that you're using Google mail services. I know from my own experience administering groups through GSuite that they are unsuitable for running lists with some level of confidence that all mail reaches it. Their spam procedures are opaque and outside of the user's control, and no one is notified when mail just disappears.
