This work by Laurence makes it possible to set tagged values on Zope schemas (like the ones used by plone.autoform to build forms) using grok-like directives but without actually depending on grok. It is a prerequisite for adding Dexterity to Plone core (at least, as long as we want to do that without pulling in five.grok).
Whoever merges this should first create a 1.0 maintenance branch of plone.supermodel and switch the Plone coredev buildout for 4.1 and 4.2 to use it instead of master.
