See https://community.plot.ly/t/error-read-econnreset-cannot-to-impala-via-falcon-sql-client/7686

This request would require contributing to node-impala (see https://github.com/ufukomer/node-impala/issues/17).

Hey Guys, It would be great to know the status of this issue. Please let us know when this issue resolved.

n-riesco commented 6 years ago

@logicsandeep There is no one working on this issue (mostly because this is actually an enhancement request for node-impala). I'm tagging this issue as community, so that people know that help will be appreciated.

logicsandeep commented 6 years ago

I believe this is a very important requirement. I can't think of people connecting to impala with out a username/password. It would be great if this issue is prioritized.

If you would like particular features built that aren't in the roadmap, your company or organization can sponsor them through Plotly's Advanced Development team: https://plot.ly/products/consulting-and-oem/

@chriddyp : We consider this secure connections a core feature for a reporting platform. For our Hadoop-based warehouse platform (https://github.com/servinglynk/hmis-lynk-open-source), that would mean either support for secure Hive or secure Impala connections. We do not have funds available to support development of those features, since we are committed to our core features. But, we would love to be able to recommend your product as our default open source reporting tool, if this feature were included in Falcon. cc: @logicsandeep
