Rss feeds not saved or visable. #26

Basically I upgraded to 1.1.4 and when I reinstalled rss.app thru installer it
picked up my old
feeds somehow but would not update them or allow me to delete all feed items.
Tried going into
settings and deleteing the feed urls but didn't work either.

Went into VAR/root/library etc... And deleted the plist. Same thing happened so
I went thru
looking for all mobile rss folders and files. Deleted manual and reinstalled.
Now whenever I add
a feed ( tried engadget quick add mostly) it says saving for a second then
looks like it crashes
to the settings page. Sometimes on the home screen it shows 40 unread posts but
there is no
saved feed or anything when I open the app.

Any suggestion?
thank you and sorry bout the long issue.

Best regards,
hussainx

Hi hussainx,

Can you use the latest version 1.10.7 or the Beta 1.11? You listed 1.1.4 which
is
either very old or a typo on your part. Also, can you give the URL for the
feed
that you are having trouble with? Also, your phone model/manufacture? Also,
for
the latest version or Beta can you get the application memory used at the
bottom of
Settings form? Also, the newer versions give MIDP and CLDC versions on
Settings as
well which you can give me.

Regards,

Irving

I'm not sure that the deletes that you did without the application manager for
the
phone may have damaged something. You may be able to remove the application
using
the application manager for the phone and then install. This will lose your
data,
but I'm not sure that anything can be done in the inconsistent state. I have
discovered that some phones have a problem with non-static synchronized
methods.
I'm changing to workaround this for next release. I have not had problems with
save, but theoretically, it could affect saving as the saving methods have
synchronized methods.

Hi,

The latest version 1.11 has the changes for synchronization, so that may help
you.
If you don't mind using a development release, it has better error reporting.

Best Regards,

Irving
