If I understand https://github.com/pluginkollektiv/antivirus/pull/56 correctly, the checksum check only applies via cron job.

So you cannot start the check manually.

Maybe you could add a new tab "Manual integrity scan" (or similar)

Yes, your understanding is correct.

I'd support this idea, maybe just name the tabs "Scan themes" "Verify checksums" or similar.
