Seems promising, needs more tinkering (i.e. suddenly breaks test)

This is branched from #609 with deliberrate higher cache version

To speed up testing (and less GitHub traffic) it now also generates a 'copy' of the clone to work on - so you can safely remove ha-core and do not have to wait for a full clone ... it does cost more local disk space :(
