This could work in two ways for users of the site. The basic idea being some kind of widget to show the amount of funds raised as in ChipIn, or a simple link to PayPal that is registered for each Member of the site that chooses to allow donations.

A Member of the website may fill out their donations details (via Paypal or ChipIn or the system of our choosing) in their Personal Preferences profile. http://testing.plumi.org/personalize_form

The video_view template will call this widget/button when the Author has entered this information. http://testing.plumi.org/Members/tomster/videos/webyavas.mp4/view

Another user of the site may view this page and click on the donate button. This will take them to the Paypal/ChipIn account of the author, where they may donate via that system.

== 2. DONATE TO UPCOMING PRODUCTION ==

This is related to the Productions content item feature listed here (bumped down by And to 0.5 milestone): http://plumi.org/ticket/20

The basic idea here is to allow producers to fundraise for '''upcoming''' productions rather than collect donations for videos that have already been produced. This may be more motivating for some donors and ensure that producers can make new work, especially if it is something people want to see.

A user could add a "Production" and then extend that object by linking to their account on ChipIn?? or something similar, which would then display their fundraising goal and how much further they have to reach it next to the description of what their production is about.

I guess going with option 2 would be the easiest place to start, unless others have an idea of how this could work more effectively.

Was going to add another ticket listing expanded functionality to be explored further down the road, but won't as we can add that after testing and evaluating this experience first. We can re-visit this ticket to reference if need be.
