Multiplicity is an optional feature of a class diagram. The * there is intended to say that the schedule can have more than one events. As the reason we don't put any other multiplicity on other parts, it is not worth highlighting. Also, by definition of the class diagram, nothing should confuse the readers regarding this issue.

In the UML diagram in section 4.1 - implementation, the multiplicity for schedule -> event is shown. However, there is no information about the multiplicity on other arrows. This might confuse the readers. It would be better for authors to specify that the multiplicity is 1 by default.
